Clone of City of West Linn Receives Award for its Popular Annual Financial Report

Award

WEST LINN - The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to the City of West Linn for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012.

West Linn shares the distinction as being one of two cities in the State of Oregon that currently holds all three national awards (Budget, Audit, and Summary Annual Report) from the Government Finance Officers Association with the City of Cornelius, Oregon.  Cornelius announced their receipt of the PAFR award last week.

The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports.  In order to receive an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting, a government unit must publish a Popular Annual Financial Report, whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal.

"Financial communications and transparency are critically important to the West Linn Finance Department," said Chief Financial Officer Richard Seals. "We welcome the ability to share information about West Linn finances with the community, and the PAFR is one more effective tool that we produce to communicate effectively," said Seals.
