Summer Water Conservation

River

August 6th, 2026

The City of West Linn along with our water partners at Oregon City and the South Fork Water Board have issued a Stage 2 Water Curtailment Alert to reduce water usage and help ensure water flow for fish populations in the Clackamas River. Water flow at the mouth of the Clackamas River has dropped below the 650 cubic feet per second threshold to mandate a water curtailment.

To do our part in reducing water usage, the City has:

  • Suspended park and right-of-way irrigation.
  • Prohibited water line testing and flushing in connection with construction projects; except testing and flushing of critical water facilities.
  • Prohibited washing City vehicles, except at facilities that recycle the water in their washing processes.
  • Prohibited street washing/ street sweeping; except as needed for dust control to meet air quality requirements mandated by DEQ.

We ask the the public:

  • Limit landscape irrigation to the hours between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. or end irrigation completely for the summer.

*Splash Pads in City parks will remain open as their water is re-circulated.

** The water curtailment is not related on the on-going wildfires and the City's water system's capacity has not been impacted.
