Safe Routes to School Construction Bittner and Long
The project will create sidewalk connections to Sunset Primary and Sunset Park through adding sidewalk along the south side of Long Street from Simpson St to Exeter St and along the park side of Bittner Street. The sidewalks will include ADA accessible crosswalks, stormwater planters, and an improved entrance to Sunset Fire Hall.
Status Updates
6/16/26- Crews are installing pipe at the Bittner and Long intersection for new stormwater facilities. Next week they will be moving north on Bittner to begin preparing the park side for basing in sidewalk.
6/17/26- The contractor plans on pouring concrete for the stormwater catch basins on 6/18.
