The Dr. Edward and Anne McLean House has officially been listed on the National Register of Historic Places! This prestigious recognition highlights the home’s rich history and architectural significance, preserving its legacy for future generations.

Built in 1927 by Dr. Edward H. McLean, a respected Clackamas County physician, the 4,500-square-foot Colonial Revival home has been a cornerstone of our community for decades. In 1969, Dr. McLean sold the property to the City at a generous discount, ensuring it would be used for public recreation. Over the years, the Friends of McLean House helped restore and maintain the home, hosting weddings, events, and more.

The McLean House joins other West Linn landmarks on the National Register, including:

  • Historic City Hall
  • Willamette Falls Locks
  • Willamette River Arch Bridge
  • Willamette Historic District

The City will celebrate the McLean House National Register nomination with the community on June 28th from 11:00 to 12:30. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP at the Facebook event page!

You are invited to share your stories, memories, and photos of the McLean House with the West Linn community on our community engagement page Your West Linn/McLean House Stories
