Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge Concept Plan

WL OC Bridge

For more detailed project information see the ODOT Project Page here.

People who walk, bike, and roll across the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn currently use the Arch Bridge, which does not have dedicated bike paths or sidewalks that meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards. To address this, Oregon City, West Linn, Clackamas County, Metro, and ODOT are exploring potential new pedestrian-bicycle bridge alignments between Willamette Falls and the I-205 Abernethy Bridge. ODOT was able to identify $350K in funding to assist the multi-agency group with a consultant to lead a feasibility study and public engagement.

ODOT hosted an online open house March 29 - April 13, and a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, April 6. More than 750 people took the recent project survey. Nearly 80 percent of respondents think a bridge exclusively for people walking and biking would benefit their community.
