Stay Home Save Lives and Support Local Businesses

WEST LINN, OR--March 25, 2020--Help Spread the Stay Home Save Lives Message. On March 23rd, Governor Kate Brown issued a statewide "Stay Home, Save Lives" order, requiring Oregonians to stay home except to meet essential needs such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, doctor visits, and exercising. The order closes gyms, hair salons, state parks, playgrounds, shopping malls, and more. See the details of the order here.

We know it's difficult, but staying home is the best way to slow the spread of COVID-19 and save lives. The Oregon Health Authority created social media cards that explain what you can and can't do under this new executive order. Download them here and help share these important messages to keep everyone informed.

As a result of the new order, City closures now include:

  • All park play equipment, sports courts, fitness court, skatepark, and all park bathrooms are closed. Parks themselves will remain open as long as physical distancing of at least six feet from others can be maintained. Bernert Landing and Cedaroak Boat Ramps remain open.
  • West Linn Police business office closed to the public.
    • For emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency dispatch, call 503-635-0238. For other police business matters call 503-655-6214 or email wlpdrecords@westlinnoregon.gov.

City operations continue and staff are ready to respond to your questions and requests. Here are some ways you can connect with City services electronically:

Support Local Businesses

We have seen several people ask how they can show support for our local restaurants during this challenging time. Fortunately, many are staying open and offering delivery and pick-up options, in compliance with Governor Brown's orders.

The West Linn Chamber, Historic Willamette Main Street, and the City of West Linn have teamed up to create a West Linn To Go webpage where you can see all West Linn restaurants that are open, their pick-up/delivery options, menus, hours, and more! There is also a new "West Linn to Go" Facebook group to find deals and post new information about your favorite local restaurants. We encourage you to order from these local restaurants while you're staying home working, playing, and practicing social distancing.
