PGE is Here to Help
Current times are difficult, and Portland General Electric wants you to know they’re here to help. Call 800-542-8818, or fill out a customer assistance form and a Customer Service Advisor will call you to talk through bill support options, energy assistance and more.

Small Business Relief Grants
While all businesses are bearing the brunt of COVID-19’s economic backlash, small businesses are hardest hit. A coalition of not-for-profit, cooperative credit unions is working together to distribute relief grants, which qualified small businesses will not have to pay back.

Four credit unions with CDFI designation — Consolidated Community, Trailhead, Point West, and Central Willamette — stepped up and will fund grants ranging from $2,500 to $12,500. Interested business owners may reach out to the participating credit unions by emailing or visiting the websites:

Now is the Time to get Children Caught up on Vaccines
Parents are understandably nervous about taking their children and teens to their doctor's offices right now. As a result, children in Oregon are falling behind on their childhood vaccinations. August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and Oregon Health Authority wants to work with families to ensure this pandemic is not followed by an increase in cases of vaccine-preventable diseases or a preventable outbreak.

With so many people out of work and without health insurance it is important to know you can still keep your child safe. The Vaccines for Children (VFC) program offers free vaccines to families who cannot afford to pay for their children's vaccines. Call 211 to find out more about VFC. If your children need health insurance, they may be eligible for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). It is open to all children and teens younger than 19, regardless of immigration status, who meet income and other criteria. Visit www.OHP.Oregon.gov to find community partners in your area.

Staying safe while shopping
Many Oregonians have been able to take advantage of curbside, delivery and online shopping during COVID-19. You may not have those choices for all your shopping needs, or you may be starting to visit your favorite local shops again due to reopening. Here are some tips to keep in mind that will help keep shopping safe for you, fellow shoppers and staff:

  • Stay six feet away from people who don't live with you
  • Wear a mask or face covering
  • Don't try on items that are worn on the face (masks, scarves, headbands, eyewear)
  • If using fitting rooms, wash or sanitize your hands before and after trying on clothes
  • Use entrances and exits as marked
  • In checkout lines, follow the store's instructions (as shown in store signs and floor markings)
