May Peace Prevail On Earth International

A Peace Pole is an internationally recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing for peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in different languages on each of its four or six sides. The pole located at the West Linn Police Station has four sides and features eight languages - English, Chinuk Wawa, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Swahili, Hebrew, and Arabic.

The Peace Pole Project began in post-World War II Japan with a dedication to uplift humankind toward harmony rather than conflict. When you take part in the planting of this Peace Pole in our community, you are uniting with people all over the world who have planted Peace Poles in the same spirit of peace.  There are estimated over 250,000 Peace Poles in every country in the world dedicated as monuments to peace.
