Highway 43 Closure
ODOT released this statement Thursday at 9:00pm regarding closure of Highway 43 in West Linn from 9 am to 11 pm Friday, February 19, between Hidden Springs Road and McKillican Street
WEST LINN -- OR 43 will close all day Friday as ODOT, PGE, and the Cities of West Linn and Lake Oswego work to restore power and remove hazardous trees along the busy, populated corridor.
The closure, all in West Linn, will begin at 9 a.m. Friday between Hidden Springs Road to the north and McKillican Street to the south with the road scheduled to open again by 11 p.m.
The closure is an all-hands effort to accomplish in one day what may otherwise require close to a week to complete. All four agencies will deploy crews in the effort to clear trees and restore power in an area hit hard by the recent ice storm.
Law enforcement will staff the closures at both the north and south ends. Local residents will have access as will emergency service vehicles.
ODOT has been closing roads in recent days as PGE crews need access to roads to get power turned on. On Monday, ODOT closed Interstate 84 near downtown Portland and Thursday night will close Interstate 5 near Aurora to help the PGE crews move quickly to restore service.
