City Council recap of 08/10/2015 meeting

The West Linn City Council met in a regular session on Aug. 10. The agenda included a contract amendment, a few ordinances and community grant allocations.

After taking comment from about 15 members of the community, the council each gave a quick update as to what they have been doing to recently.

Political endorsements

Under Business from the City Council, the council heard from City Attorney Tim Ramis regarding a potential policy on political endorsements by citizen members of city advisory committees.

The West Linn City Council met in a special meeting and then in a work session on Aug. 3.

Ordinance

The first item on the agenda was an ordinance amend the city’s zoning map to remove a property on 14th Street from the Willamette Historic Overlay District and adding a historic resource map to Chapter 25 of the Community Development Code.

At the council’s last meeting, they approved the findings to remove the property from the district.

The council is expected to vote whether to approve the ordinance at its Aug. 10 meeting.

The West Linn City Council met in a special meeting July 13 with just one item on the agenda.

Mayor Russ Axelrod, who was out of town, attended the meeting via telephone.

After calling the meeting to order, the council held a public hearing regarding a removal from the historic district.

The applicant requested the property at 1344 14th Street be removed from the Historic District overlay zone.
