Volunteer - Mary S Young Work Party

Join us at the beloved Mary S. Young Park to remove ivy at these first Saturday work days. Volunteers have worked continuously for more than 15 years to remove ivy and other non-native vegetation, plant native plants and trees, build trails, etc. You will get a good workout and feel good about contributing to the health of this beautiful forest.

Tools are provided. Work gloves and sturdy footwear recommended. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal.

Police Station

The improvement for the Police Station entails designing and installing an emergency generator sized appropriately to provide full functionality in the event of both short and long term power loss.

Sunset Fire Hall

Project Type:

Project includes exterior painting, park connectivity (upgrades to parking lot and ADA transitions to the park), restroom and kitchen upgrades.

Project cost to date = $151,383

Required Fire Suppression Sprinklers (unexpected requirement)- Completed 12/7/2021

Interior ADA Upgrades - Delayed 
ADA evaluation revealed the need to re-classify facility and add required Fire Suppression system.

Robinwood Station

Project Type:

This project includes major renovations to convert this facility into a Community Resource Center. Work includes such elements required to meet current building codes and include elements such as accessibility upgrades, seismic upgrades, kitchen upgrades, a new restroom, new kitchen appliances, cabinets and storage and any required on/off-site improvements such as storm water management and paved parking.

Project completed in March 2023

Total Project Cost = $ 1,112,463

McLean House

Project Type:

The improvements at the Mclean House include restroom and other upgrades for accessibility, new exterior paint and irrigation upgrades.
