Computer Labs

  • All computer users are expected to comply with our Computer Use Policy.
  • Headphones and media card readers are available for check-out. These are for in-library use only.
  • Printing is $0.10/sheet for B&W and $0.25/sheet for color.

The Book Nook Used Bookstore

The Book Nook used bookstore is located on the main floor near the Information Desk and is open during library hours.

Library History

1939: The West Linn Library is established on the second floor of the City Hall building (now the police station). The collection contains 350 books and two magazine subscriptions

1979: The library moves out of City Hall and into a 1,500-square-foot space at the Bolton Fire Station. March 1988: Voters approve a $1.2 million bond proposal to finance construction of the city’s first dedicated library building.

December 1988: Crews break ground on construction of the new library building on Burns Street. December 1989: The new 10,000-square-foot library opens to the public.

Library Board

The citizen members of the West Linn Library Board advise the City Council and the City Manager on issues regarding the West Linn Public Library.

The Library Board generally meets the 3rd Tuesday of every other month @ 5:00 PM, and board meetings are open to the public. To see minutes from past meetings and the next scheduled meeting check this page.

Technology Help

One-on-One Technology Appointments

Library patrons can request a one-on-one appointment to get technology assistance on any device. Each session can be up to one hour. Follow-up appointments are allowed. If you do not have an email address please call 503-656-7853 to schedule your appointment. Otherwise request an appointment online.

Volunteer at the Library

Volunteers are vital to the library's success. Hundreds of items we process each day are handled by volunteers. We're looking for people age 14 and over who can make a regular commitment to help out.

Computer Use Policy

PURPOSE

To ensure that the library operates in accordance with the library’s mission, values, and vision, the West Linn Public Library has established this Computer Use Policy to promote library services, protect library resources, foster safety, and protect the rights of all patrons and library staff while providing access to electronic resources, materials, and the Internet.

Behavior Policy

PURPOSE

The West Linn Public Library (Library) endorses the principles documented in the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights.  To ensure that the Library operates in accordance with the Library’s mission, values, and vision, the West Linn Public Library has established Behavior Rules and Policies (Rules) to maintain an atmosphere that promotes Library services, protects Library resources, fosters safety, and protects the rights of all patrons and Library staff.
