Willamette Falls Drive Improvements - Tualatin River to 16th St. & 10th St. to Hwy 43
Provide pedestrian and bicycle improvements along the corridor including bike lanes/cycle tracks and sidewalks. This is intended to provide a direct connection between commerical areas (including downtown Oregon City).
The purpose of this project is to provide final design for separated bike and pedestrian facilities along with road and drainage improvements consistent with the TSP and Highway 43 Concept Plan as well as improve overall safety of the corridor while accommodating vehicle traffic, parking, and access needs of the area.
The preliminary design component of this project is supported by the City's Arterial Roadway Preliminary Design Project (PW-19-03) which provides the preliminary multimodal design of the Willamette Falls corridor from the Tualatin River to Highway 43 (excluding section between 10th St. and 16th St.) as well as the Highway 43 corridor.
Project limits include Highway 43 from Hiddens Springs Road to approximately 100 feet north of the southbound I-205 interchange terminal; and Willamette Falls Drive from the Tualatin River to 16th Street and from 10th Street to Highway 43, including the segment of Highway 43 from approximately 100 feet south of the northbound I-205 interchange terminal to the Willamette River Bridge. The downtown commercial Willamette area of Willamette Falls Drive (10th St to 16th St) is currently under a separate design contract and is not part of this project scope of work.
Bike and pedestrian improvements from the Tualatin River to Epperly Way are being constructed in collaboration with West Linn-Wilsonville School District, as part of the Athey Creek Middle School Project. More information can be found HERE
This project will take the project through the required City processes to a preliminary design product (approximately the 30% level of completion) for City Council approval that will be the basis for future capital projects in both corridors. In addition, an interim 10% horizontal plan for Willamette Falls Drive will be presented for adoption into the City of West Linn TSP and to support an application for potential regional investment funding.
