Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)

In 2021, the West Linn Police Department hired Mental Health Specialist Amber Hambrick to assist our officers with the continued rise in mental health calls. This was accomplished through a partnership with the Lake Oswego Police Department. Amber has helped us launch our Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) and brings over 15 years of experience working within the mental health field.  She has the ability to respond with West Linn Police Department officers on specific calls in the community where her expertise in mental health crisis can provide additional benefit, as well as perform her own follow-up and outreach with citizens she has previously contacted. Amber is a vital and important addition to the West Linn Police Department and the West Linn Community!
