City of West Linn Robinwood Neighborhood Association (RNA, RN to be used for Robinwood Neighborhood) Monthly Meeting Minutes Tuesday, 7/11/06 Mike Kapigian called the meeting to order at 7:08 PM. The April minutes will be made available for approval at the August meeting. The persons who attended recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Items Discussed Police Update Officer Amendolara reported on the incidents occurring in the RN during June 2006. He also noted that there was no RN rep at the Policy Action Committee meeting on 7/10 and that any resident from West Linn can apply to be on the committee (membership is not restricted per neighborhood). Mapleton Development Developer reps Mark Person and Vic Coombes commented that land not integrated into the home development may be dedicated to the city. The approximate size of the homes will be 3200- 4500 sq ft and there will be about seven homes. For reference on Mr. Coombes developmental style, residents may assess his Windham Oak development project (about 10 yrs old). The developers noted that there is consideration for a pedestrian path from the development site to Nixon Ave. If approval processes at the city go as planned, development will begin in Summer ’07. Development of Space Adjacent to Kasch’s (former development attempted by Shurgard) Doug Seely and Monty Struck, developer and designer, respectively, discussed plans for a plan for a set of one-story only spaces of size 12-13K sq ft to be used for a variety of purposes (boutique shops, cafes, pet services, etc.). Various residents brought forth various concerns – the most prominent being traffic volume and flow and residual lighting concerns. The exchange with the residents was recorded per city code. RNA Neighborhood Plan Development Update Streetwalker Kevin Bryck noted that there were no substantive updates and that the Streetwalkers were looking for recruits to assist in getting traction on the project. RN Picnic The picnic was confirmed to be occurring on 8/27 at 1:00 PM in Robinwood Park. West Linn Arts Commission (WLAC) - Donation A motion was made, and seconded, to donate $200 of RNA monies to the WLAC. Discussion points pre-vote were regarding what type of art the WLAC contributes to the city and how much money the city contributes to the RNA account. A contribution of $200 was approved (15 For, 0 Against, 6 Abstentions) conditional upon the RNA receiving $1500 from the city. Development of Space just North of Cedar Oak School A resident noted that it is already dangerous for parents to walk their kids to/from school along the road and that added traffic to due additional homes being contemplated for the aforementioned land will make it even more dangerous. Mike Kapigian said to check with City Planning personnel Brown, Spier, or Howard to see what progress is being made on this development as to ascertain how to effectively raise the pedestrian traffic concerns. The meeting adjourned at 8:47 PM. Next meeting will be on Tuesday, 8/8/06 at 7:00 PM (it will occur outside). Minutes submitted by RNA Secretary, Scott Sandie
