Nutrition research suggests there may be more truth to the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” than you might think!
In this class, we’ll explore the nutritional benefits of apples and how they may support heart health, help maintain healthy blood sugar levels, promote a healthy gut microbiome, and protect our cells from damage. You’ll learn what makes apples a nutrient-rich addition to a balanced diet and how to get the most nutritional value from this everyday fruit.
As part of the class, I’ll demonstrate how to make a delicious no-added-sugar apple chutney and share creative ways to use it as a flavorful condiment with a variety of meals.
This class will be taught by Katherine Ferruzzi, MScN. Katherine Ferruzzi is an experienced nutritionist who educates and motivates individuals to take an active approach to their health. Her master’s degree in nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine and bachelor’s degree in chemistry give her the confidence to provide an evidence-based program that positively influences health.
