Cooking Demonstrations

The library is excited to offer virtual and in-person cooking demonstrations at the library. 

 
Library Chef: We’re excited to bring Library Chef to you—offering cooking and kitchen skills for adults of all levels, along with insights from professional nutritionists and guest chefs from around the world! There are also classes for Teens and Children as well! Enjoy three live classes each month, plus replays available at your convenience—getting started is a breeze!

Tuesday, January 13th   |   6-7:30 PM   |   The Community Room   |  Registration Required

Students will learn to prepare nutritionally balanced meals, plan like an expert so they don’t have to eat the same thing every day, what can be made ahead, and how long foods can safely be stored.

Participants will learn to create dressings and sauces with various flavors.

A healthy gut plays a powerful role in reducing the risk of chronic conditions including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and certain cancers. This program provides an overview of the gut microbiome, what it is, and why it matters. Participants will learn how the gut microbiome supports digestion, immunity, inflammation control, and overall health, as well as explore foods that promote a healthy gut, including fiber-rich foods, fermented foods, and resistant starches.
