Terrific Tuesdays at Willamette Park

Calling everyone who likes fun in the sun! Join us on Tuesdays at  Willamette Park, 1100 12th Street, on the Main Stage for some exciting entertainment! We offer two programs, at 10am or at 11:30am, with the exception of our last program, our StoryWalk Celebration, which will be at Fields Bridge Park and only at 10am.

Bring your picnic, a blanket, and your library card so you can checkout books while you are there. You might also want to bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. In the event of bad weather, updates will be posted on our website as well as our Facebook page.

Terrific Tuesdays at Fields Bridge Park: StoryWalk® Celebration

Tuesday, August 5th at 10am at Fields Bridge Park.

Celebrate our latest StoryWalk® book at Fields Bridge Park:  People Are Wild, written and illustrated by Margaux Meganck.  Margaux will be on hand to share more about this story and her approach to the illustrations, along with answering questions from the audience.  Stay afterwards to enjoy snacks, giveaways, and a raffle for signed copies of Margaux’s books.  Families are also welcome to bring a book (or a notebook or something else special) for Margaux to sign.

No School All Cool STEAM Programs for Kids

At 10:30am and 11:30am on specific non-school days.

Join us for some hands-on STEAM fun! Registration is required.

Patsy reading

Tales to Tails is on break for the summer. Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school year from 3:00-4:20. Registration required.

Come practice reading to one of our registered therapy dogs. Kids sign up for 20-minute sessions to read to a dog downstairs at the library. Each child chooses a book and how much reading and petting to do. Reading to the dogs increases enthusiasm for reading, develops reading skills, teaches children how to interact with pets and promotes confidence. Our dog handlers encourage interaction with their dogs and will offer help if needed. All dogs and handlers are registered therapy teams.
