Statement of Mission

The Mission of the Information Technology Team at the City of West Linn is to create an environment that integrate technology into the fabric of the institution, creates value and operational efficiencies for departments empowers staff, citizens, and elected/appointed officials with the tools, information, and services they need, when and where they need them, to accomplish the delivery of trusted and reliable municipal services.

We as a team design, deliver and maintain reliability and accessible information resources, systems and services. Our customers trust and rely on our success as strategic partners and stewards of those systems and information.

We think beyond perceived constraints and promote new and improved ways to deliver municipal services that support our staff, citizens, and elected/appointed officials.  Leading edge thinking without sacrificing our other shared values is critical to the culture of the department.

We are NOT a commodity organization focused technical tools or gear, but rather the knowledge, preparation, and readiness we bring in addition to a deeper understanding of role technology plays in evolving municipal service delivery.  We enable departments to focus on their core mission: municipal services, cost containment, and citizen engagement.

Together we support each other’s efforts to improve our products, services, processes. Improvements are realized though incremental improvement over time and breakthrough improvement when we innovate collaboratively as a team.  We are in constant pursuit to evaluated and improved process, people and the organization with effectiveness and flexibility.
