Historic Survey Planned for the Willamette Neighborhood

This November, the City of West Linn, with SWCA Environmental Consultants, is conducting fieldwork for a historic resource survey.  This work involves photographing the exterior of buildings from the public right-of-way.  SWCA will be surveying nearly 250 properties in the Willamette neighborhood built in 1965 or earlier and supplementing previous surveys of the Willamette Historic District with information on accessory structures.   The project’s purpose is to identify buildings that may have historical significance to the city and supplement existing historic resource surveys.  The new information on the properties will be added to the City’s historic resource inventory and the State’s Historic Sites Database.  Partial funding of the project is through a Certified Local Government grant from the State Historic Preservation Office with Federal funds from the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
