Fire Hydrant Flushing

Why are we flushing fire hydrants and operating water valves?

The City of West Linn aims to provide high quality drinking water to all residents within the water service area. To ensure proper working order of fire hydrants and water system valves crews use specialized valve maintenance equipment to ensure all water valves are accessible and operable in case of an emergency or routine water shutdowns. During this process crews also assess the general condition of each fire hydrant and valve.
