E-bikes & Scooters

The West Linn Police Department would like to remind our community that various types of alternative vehicles in Oregon, including e-bikes and e-scooters, are subject to traffic rules. Call the non-emergency line with questions or refer to the information below:

TOW HEARING REQUEST

According to Oregon Revised Statue 809.716, the lawful owner or person entitled to lawful possession of an impounded vehicle, may request a hearing to contest the validity of the impoundment. The request must be made in writing within five (5) calendar days of the impoundment.

Public Request for Police Reports

Oregon Revised Statute 192.005 defines a "public record" as any “information, owned, used, or retained by a state agency or political subdivision that relates to an activity, transaction, or function and is necessary to satisfy the fiscal, legal, administrative or historical policies requirements or needs of the state agency or political subdivision."  Every person has the right to inspect any public record of a public body in this state, except as otherwise provided in ORS 192.

West Linn Police Accreditation

The West Linn Police Department was accredited April 2023 through the Northwest Accreditation Alliance. The accreditation cycle is for a three-year period. The next accreditation review will be for the years 2023-2025.

About WLPD

The West Linn Police Department currently serves approximately 27,000 citizens with 6 non-sworn employees and 28 sworn officer positions. The non-sworn positions include Records, Property/Evidence and Community Service Officers. The sworn police officers include the Chief, Captain, Sergeants, Detective and School Resource Officer.
