West Linn Residents Donate 29,000 Pounds of Goods to Goodwill Industries

WEST LINN – Saturday, September 18, 2010 marked another successful Clean Up Day for the City of West Linn. Hundreds of West Linn residents cleaned house and donated more than 29,000 pounds of salable goods to Goodwill Industries. The City provided 11 dumpsters and coordinated with Goodwill Industries to provide donation sites at five locations around the city. Neighbors gathered around coffee and donuts in the rain to support this event and dozens of volunteers staffed each site. As in years past, many of the dumpsters were full in the first two hours of the four-hour event.

Neighborhood Association Debit Card Application

The City of West Linn works in partnership with Pacific West Bank to provide each Neighborhood Association (NA) with a debit card account.  This is an important partnership, because it gives NAs the flexibility and freedom to use their city grant money for NA business.

There is a three step process that is required for adding any new debit card holders, or removing a debit card holder from the account prior to card expiration:

Neighborhood Associations

The City of West Linn encourages, recognizes, and supports Neighborhood Associations, which are organized under provisions of Chapter 2 of the West Linn Municipal Code. Ten Neighborhood Associations receive official recognition from the City of West Linn.

What's the difference between a Homeowners Association and a Neighborhood Association?

A Homeowners Association is a private organization that usually contains a small neighborhood. Residents often pay dues to cover common area maintenance expenses. They are empowered by a restriction on your home’s deed.
