StoryWalk®at Fields Bridge Park Celebration: Blue Sky, White Stars

Calendar Date:
Tuesday, June 18, 2024 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

Blue Sky White Stars

Celebrate our latest StoryWalk® book at Fields Bridge Park: Blue Sky, White Stars, bilingual edition, with text in both Spanish and English, written by Sarvinder Naberhaus and illustrated by Kadir Nelson! Drop by to read this story as you walk along the paved path and explore this beautiful park.  The first 75 attendees will receive a free copy of this book.

What does it mean to be free?  And who has historically contributed to our freedom? Blue Sky, White Stars explores the theme of freedom along with diversity and unity and features representation of Black Americans, whose contributions throughout history haven’t always been widely depicted or acknowledged.  A History of Juneteenth Pop Up StoryWalk will also be featured during this event to share about this important holiday.

When you visit, be aware that construction is still ongoing and the east park entrance is closed. There is limited parking available at the west entrance and overflow parking is available in the lower lot of Athey Creek Middle School.  Golf carts will provide shuttle service from the Athey Creek parking lot to this event.
