Social Media Guidelines

The West Linn Public Library participates in social media to reach out to our patrons, foster community, promote services, engage library users, and carry out the library's greater mission statement.

Comments, posts, and messages are welcome on the library's social networking sites. The library reserves the right to monitor content on all of its social networking sites and to remove messages or postings containing the following:

  • Comments containing hate language, vulgar, obscene, or libelous language
  • Personal attacks, insults, or threatening language
  • Private personal information published without consent of individual
  • Content not related to the original post, library business, programs, events, resources, and materials
  • Commercial promotions or spam
  • Political advertisements or endorsements
  • Material that is plagiarized or copyrighted
