FAQs

  • Why is this happening on a Wednesday afternoon?
    • May 8th is one of the WLWV school district's early release days for all ages, so West Linn families will already be looking for things to fill the afternoon. Due to large attendance numbers in past Harry Potter Day events, this allows us to spread out entry times so everyone has a great time AND gets home in time for dinner!

  • Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
    • All ages are welcome to this event, but it is geared towards youth.

  • Is there a cost to attend?
    • No, it's free! The majority of the activities at WizardFest are absolutely free and provided by our sponsors, especially the West Linn Library Foundation. However, there are a few reasons to bring some cash...
      • Wands: Free wands from Ollivander's will only be available for those who attend the event. There are wands to purchase for your friend who couldn't make it at Flourish & Blott's (ahem, the Book Nook) for $1 each.
      • Books: Flourish & Blott's will be operating all afternoon, so come check out their amazing collection of books, DVDs/Blu-rays, and Puzzles!
      • Food: There will be snacks available to purchase at Honeyduke's.
    • All proceeds will go to the West Linn Library Foundation, who funds library programs like WizardFest, and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library

  • What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
    • We suggest parking at Hammerle Park or WLHS and take a short walk down to the library. We highly stress that only customers of Central Village should park in their lots, so please be mindful of our neighbors!

  • What can I bring into the event?
    • Come dressed up! It's also a good idea to bring something in which to carry your things, as there are a number of items you will be receiving that night.

  • Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
    • Yes and no! In order to get in at your specified time, you need to have your ticket ready. It can be printed out or displayed on your phone, but sometimes a printed ticket is more reliable :) You can download the free Eventbrite app from your phone's app store to have it handy. If you need help printing or getting your tickets, please come down to the Youth Services desk and we'd be happy to assist you! The link for WizardFest registration will open on April 17th.

  • Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
    • Yes, when someone orders a group of tickets, all tickets will be under that one person's name. While you don't have to have your name on the ticket, make sure to be grouped with your ticket leader!

  • How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
    • Please feel free to contact Library Manager, Rebecca Mayer, with any questions. She can be reached at 503-742-6185 or rmayer@westlinnoregon.gov

Stay tuned for further information on this magical day!
