-For regular programs: 5 business days prior to the first day of the program.
-For camps: 10 business days prior to the first day of camp.
"Camps" refer to structured, typically multi-day programs—often during summer or school breaks—that run primarily on weekdays (e.g., Monday–Friday) and offer a mix of recreational, educational, or thematic activities typically for youth (e.g., “Youth Mini Camps” with sports, arts & crafts, creativity sessions). A specific feature is the refund-request deadline: 10 business days before the first day of camp.
"Regular programs" are standard recreational classes or activities—perhaps weekly classes, ongoing sessions, or other non-camp formats (such as art classes, fitness programs, or instructional courses). These have a refund-request deadline of 5 business days prior to the first day of the program.
1. How far in advance must I request a refund or credit for camps?
Requests must be submitted in writing to the city's parks refund email address (parksrefunds@westlinnoregon.gov) at least 10 business days before the first day of the camp.
2. What about regular programs—how far ahead is the deadline?
Refund requests must be received at least 5 business days prior to the first day of the program.
3. Are there any fees for refunds?
Yes. All refund requests—whether for camps or regular programs—are subject to a $10 administrative fee. This fee applies regardless of the type of program.
4. Can I request a credit instead of a refund?
Yes! You may choose to receive a credit in lieu of a refund. Credits do not incur the $10 administrative fee, but they can only be used toward Recreation programs that use the RecDesk registration system.
5. What happens if I submit a refund request after the deadline?
Refunds or credits will not be issued if the request arrives after the applicable deadline (i.e., less than 10 business days before camp, or less than 5 business days before a regular program).
6. Can I get a partial refund?
No, if a camp or class has begun, there will be no refunds.
7. What if the City cancels or changes the program or camp?
If West Linn Parks and Recreation cancels a program or camp (e.g., due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances), you'll receive a full refund, with no administrative fee charged. City of West Linn They also reserve the right to change or combine programs or camps and will strive to notify participants of such changes.
8. Who do I contact to request a refund or credit?
All requests must be submitted in writing to: parksrefunds@westlinnoregon.gov by the applicable deadline.
9. Are credits refundable?
No. Credits are non-refundable—they must be used toward other eligible RecDesk-registered recreation programs.
10. Can I transfer to a different class?
You can request a class/camp transfer in writing to parksrefunds@westlinnoregon.gov. The request must be submitted before the refund deadline for the camp/class.
