School Partnerships

Girl boarding school bus

We value collaboration with our school community and enjoy opportunities where students, teachers, and our public library can work together to support the children and families in our city.

School Newsletters

We create a monthly Primary School Newsletter and a quarterly Preschool Newsletter that highlight new books, programs for children, and information that is important to know.

Book List for Educators

We created book lists specifically for educators for picture books, chapter books, nonfiction, and graphic novels, by grade or grade level bunch. The titles in the lists are linked to our catalog and the lists are printable.

Educator Cards

Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) are proud to offer Educator Cards to any certified staff who work or live in Clackamas County. The benefits include more checkouts, more holds, a longer checkout time, and no late fees. If you are interested in getting an Educator Card, please reach out to krhoades@westlinnoregon.gov for an Educator Card Application or any requests for support.

Books for Classroom Units of Study

Teachers in our West Linn schools, we are happy to gather text resources around a subject or theme for a unit of study. Note, you will need an Educator Card in order for us to pull these resources for you. Please use our Educator Request for Resources form to request resources for your classroom.

And if you like to curate your own resources for a unit, it is possible to save a list of those resources in your account so that you can utilize it again in the future. Instructions for creating and saving a list in the catalog are here.

STEAM Materials

We can supply ready-to-go class sets of Ozobots or Take & Make Kits that foster hands-on learning and fun. Please contact krhoades@westlinnoregon.gov if you are interested.

Classroom Visits

We can do these at the library or at school, in-person or via Zoom, and they can be specifically tailored to your purpose. Please contact the appropriate librarian for your age group from the list below.

Book Drops

We now have book drops inside all West Linn primary schools thanks to the West Linn Library Foundation. This service provides a place to return public library resources in a place commonly frequented by families. To use the books drops at school, just return your public library books along with your school library books to your primary school library. The public library will pick up items once a week and they will be checked in as of the date you returned them. This means your items may appear on your account for up to a week. Only Clackamas County (LINCC) materials will be accepted.
