Within the City of West Linn's 7.39 square miles, there are over 600 acres of park land, ranging from active-orientated parks with opportunities for sports , picnicking, and playing on play structures or in spray parks, to passive-orientated parks with opportunities for walking, biking and watching wildlife.

The park system is comprised of 17 active-orientated parks with amenities like open turf areas, play structures, spray parks, athletic fields, shelters, and stages.  The city also offers other recreational areas, including skate park & skate areas, basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts.

The City of West Linn also has a total of 25.6 miles of trails throughout the City. The existing trails system consists of 18.2 miles of trails through parks or opens spaces and 7.4 miles of trails along easements, city property, residential linkages and unimproved public right of way.
