Safety Town Volunteer

This is a non paid, volunteer position. The City of West Linn is recruiting for enthusiastic youth volunteers to work in the Safety Town Camps program sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department.


Volunteers (must be at least 13 yrs. old) are very important to the success of Safety Town.


Under the guidance of the City of West Linn recreation staff, volunteers, and community resource personnel, children (ages 4-6) are introduced to a wide variety of safety concepts with special emphasis on traffic and pedestrian safety.  The program consists of guest presenters, classroom instruction, craft projects and songs.


This year there will be two weeks of Safety Town, the first week will be in June and the second week will be in August. Volunteers for Safety Town must be available for a 6 day commitment, including one day of training/set-up.


Training/set-up will be held Friday, June 20th, 1-3 pm for camp dates June 23rd -27th, 9-11 am.

Training/set-up will be held Friday, August 15th, 1-3 pm for camp dates, August 18- 22nd, 9-11 am.

Safety Town is located at the Sunset Firehall, 2215 Long St., West Linn 97068.


Successful volunteers selected for the program must pass pre-employment reference screening.  Application packets are available at; West Linn City Hall, 22500 Salamo Road, West Linn, OR  97068; or call (503) 742-8603.   Please submit a City of West Linn volunteer application; volunteer waiver; supplemental questionnaire and two (2) letters of recommendation to City Hall, Department of Human Resources. Application deadline is May 2nd.
