The City of West Linn has adopted the following Public Works Standards to regulate all public infrastructure improvements constructed within city limits. Section 3.300 of the City's Municipal Code gives the City Engineer the authority and responsibility to enforce and amend the Public Works Standards. All referenced standards and specifications are deemed current as of January 1, 2022.

All construction design detail, workmanship, and materials shall be in accordance with the current edition of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction and Standard Drawings and Details, except as otherwise provided by these City Design Standards (including City Standard Drawings and Details). The Oregon Standard Specifications can be found at https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/Business/Pages/Standard_Specifications.aspx and the Oregon Standard Drawings and Details can be found at https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/Engineering/Pages/Standards.aspx.

These Public Works Standards are divided into three components: Design Standards, Standard Construction Specifications, and Standard Drawings. The three components can be accessed individually using the links below. Please contact the Engineering Division of Public Works with any questions about these standards.

The first component of the City's Public Works Standards, the Design Standards, provide design  criteria and instructions for engineers, consultants, and other design professionals who are designing infrastructure within city limits.

The second component of the City's Public Works Standards, the Standard Construction Specifications, provide material specifications, testing techniques, and information about construction techniques  for contractors, builders, and other construction professionals who are installing infrastructure within city limits.

The third component of the City's Public Works Standards, the Standard Drawings, provide illustration and visual details for all design and construction professionals who are working with infrastructure within city limits.
