WEST LINN - The City of West Linn will host an emergency preparedness forum featuring experts from the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI), Clackamas County Emergency Management, and the American Red Cross.
West Linn NET (Neighborhood Emergency Training) will be held from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22 at West Linn City Hall, 22500 Salamo Road. Featured topics include:
•The coming Cascadia earthquake with the dramatic “Quake-Up Call” presentation
•Disasters that could affect your community including winter storms (wind, snow, flooding) and wild land-urban interface fires
•Scope of government capability and response
•Necessity of local citizen organization and response
•Tips on reducing risks
•Steps your family should take to be self-sufficient after an emergency
•How you can prepare using the “Map Your Neighborhood” program
This free event is jointly planned by the City of West Linn Public Safety Advisory Board and the League of West Linn Neighborhoods.
