This means that the West Linn residents who depend on the 154 bus can continue to rely on TriMet service.
Special thanks to the NA Presidents and the Transportation Advisory Board members who helped share the news about the opportunity to provide feedback.
Also, thank you to the West Linn City Council for formally opposing the service cuts with their February 22, 2010 resolution.
TriMet anticipates some changes to the 154 schedule, but the changes will be minor and will be communicated with riders with on-bus signage.

TriMet is proposing a five-cent fare increase and the elimination of four bus lines to balance their budget. One of the bus lines - the 154 Willamette bus - is in West Linn. The 154 - Willamette bus line provides weekday service between West Linn's Willamette neighborhood and Oregon City, along Willamette Falls Drive. TriMet cites low ridership as part of its decision to discontinue this route, but to the riders who rely on the 154 bus, this decision will have a significant impact.
It is important that West Linn citizens have transportation options available to them. The 154 bus route gives West Linn citizens a more sustainable transportation option – eliminating car trips eases congestion and improves air quality.
Please attend one of four open houses planned by TriMet as they consider ending this service route.
The closest open house for West Linn citizens to attend is on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Community Center. Information about the open houses is available by clicking here.
Attendance at these open houses is the best way for citizens to share their opinions about the potential end to 154 bus service. Citizens can also send their concerns to TriMet using their feedback form; Comment line: 503-962-5806; Fax: 503-962-6469; Mail: TriMet-MK2, 4012 SE 17th Ave., Portland, OR 97202.
