West Linn Officer John Satter heard the call, and with other members of WLPD proceeded to Willamette Drive. Officer Satter saw the truck near the intersection of Willamette Drive and Buck Street. He turned around behind it and signaled it to stop using the emergency lights and siren that equip his marked WLPD patrol car. The driver fled.
The pursuit went down Willamette Drive, in front of the WLPD building, then onto the old bridge where it got stuck in traffic. The driver was ordered out of the vehicle by Officer Satter, and several other officers, at gunpoint.
The driver was identified as Mark Leantoine Enciso, born in 1968, of 467 Comstock Court, Woodburn, OR. During his arrest he told officers he had a gun shot wound from a prior event and was in some pain. He was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on Attempt to Elude (Felony), Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle (UUV) and Reckless Driving. The Lake Oswego Police will file charges regarding the theft from the vehicle in the park.
The property stolen from the vehicle in Lake Oswego was recovered, and after processing returned to its rightful owner.
No one was injured, and no property was damaged during the pursuit.
