Policy Questions for Council Consideration:
Does the City want to receive the grant funds necessary to complete the purchase of the Oak Savanna property
The City has applied for, and been awarded a grant through the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Local Government Grant Program, for partial funding to purchase the site known as the Oak Savanna. To receive these funds, the City Council needs to take two actions:
1)Approve the granting of a conservation easement Oregon Parks and Recreation on top of the property deed. Attached is the proposed easement language.
2)Approve the Local Grant Agreement with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department so the City may receive the grant of $333,000 toward the acquisition of this property.
Staff recommends the City Council consider a motion approving the grant agreement and the conservation easement with the Oregon Parks and recreation Department and authorizing the City manager to sign both the Grant Agreement and the Conservation Easement.
