Library Director Christine Siegel to Resign April 17, 2009

WEST LINN – City of West Linn Library Director Christine Siegel resigned her position with the intent to return to San Diego to accept a position with the San Diego Public Library system. Her resignation is effective April 17, 2009.

“Christine Siegel’s departure is a tremendous loss to our organization,” said City Manager Chris Jordan. “Christine brought a level of professionalism and expertise to our library which had an immediate impact on the library’s performance, programs, and customer service. She will be greatly missed,” said Jordan.

During Siegel’s tenure, the West Linn Library rose to number three in the Hennen’s American Public Library Rankings (HAPLR) for Oregon; library circulation increased by three percent with an anticipated 11 percent increase in 2009; the number of registered borrowers increased 34 percent, and an additional 16 percent increase anticipated in 2009; and a West Linn Library Foundation was created.

Recruitment for a new Library Director will begin immediately.
