Initiated by: Oregon Department of Transportation
Budget Impact: $900,000 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (federal stimulus) funding for Salamo Road pavement overlay
Sustainability Impact: Road maintenance projects have an impact on the environment; engineering and construction standards will maintain all local, state, and federal environmental protection requirements
Policy Questions for Council Consideration: Should the Council authorize the local agency agreement to receive the $900,000 in stimulus funding for the Salamo Road project?
Summary: The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) requires local signature of the local agency agreement for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (federal stimulus) funding for Salamo Road pavement overlay.
This is a standardized local agency agreement that all local governments receiving stimulus funding must sign.
There is no latitude to change the local agency agreement as it is boilerplate language for all stimulus projects. The City of West Linn is explicitly directed to not request changes to the agreement unless there are text errors specific to our agency or the project description.
Recommended Action: Approve the resolution authorizing the mayor to sign the local agency agreement.
