Resolution 09-01, Designation of Newspapers of Record
January 12, 2009
Land Use Case Number:
City Manager’s Office
Policy Questions for Council Consideration:
Should the City designate newspapers of record consistent with public meetings law?
Previously, the City had an outdated administrative policy designating only the West Linn Tidings as the newspaper of record.
This proposed resolution annually will designate three newspapers as newspapers of record, consistent with guidance from public meetings law and state laws which define general newspaper circulation and publication of public notices.
The proposed resolution identifies the West Linn Tidings, the Oregonian, and the Daily Journal of Commerce as newspapers of record for the City.
Identification of three newspapers gives the City greater flexibility over the old administrative policy to publish public notices in any of the three papers based on type of notice and need.
Adopt the proposed resolution designating the West Linn Tidings, the Oregonian, and the Daily Journal of Commerce as newspapers of record for the City.
