WEST LINN – The West Linn Public Library will feature the art of mother-daughter duo Kim and Andrea during the month of December. The exhibit will run November 30 – December 27 in the Library’s Community Room which is open to the public when not in use, and always open on Sundays noon – 5:00 p.m. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Kim was raised by artists and art educators. From an early age she gravitated toward the performing arts. After receiving her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona, she taught dance and acted professionally. Kim initially began watercolor painting and has more recently turned to acrylic media. She has taught in schools and in her home studio for the past 15 years and is the founder of an art critique group, Art Fusion, which includes ten Portland-area artists creating work that is competitive in the local art scene.
Kim’s daughter, Andrea, grew up immersed in both visual and performing arts. She is now a senior at Warner Pacific College. She will be graduating this spring and then hopes to pursue her professional doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Personally understanding the power that visual art holds on both is creator and viewer, Andrea wants to explore art’s therapeutic and psychological aspects. Her favorite medium is charcoal, but she has recently been exploring acrylic paint.
