WEST LINN - The City of West Linn is pleased with the results of Ballot Measure 3-377 which, once certified by the County Elections Office, would authorize the issuance of up to $8.5 million in general obligation bonds to allow for the acquisition, construction and furnishing of a new police station to be located at 8th Avenue and 13th Street. The construction of a new police station facility will allow the City to continue to provide its citizens with the highest level of police services possible.

The success of this bond measure is due in large part to the extraordinary efforts of the 16-member “Community Police Facility Development Committee”. The City Manager appointed and the City Council tasked this Committee of citizen volunteers with the job of reviewing the issues and developing a recommendation for a new cost-effective police station facility that would be supported by the voters. The Committee met nine times over a four month period and made their formal recommendations to the City Council in December of last year. They reviewed over a dozen potential sites, researched alternative design and finance options and crafted an outreach and communication strategy that lead to the successful passing of this bond measure.
