WEST LINN - It's time to get out your dancing shoes - the 4th annual street dance is on July 9, 2011! This event is hosted in the Historic Willamette area and will feature music, kids activities, juggling and food vendors.
5:00 pm - Festivities start with food booths, vendors and face painters
6:30 pm - Kids Interactive juggling games with local Juggler "Mag" Hughes
7:30 pm - Juggling performance by local juggler "Mag" Hughes
7:50 pm - Local groups assist with Ceremonial Opening of the Street Dance
8:00 pm - "Big Night Out" will perform and rock the street dance till 11 pm
About Big Night Out
Big Night Out is Portland's Premiere 12-piece rock, pop, funk, & Show-Band. With a never ending wave of solid-gold favorites, this high-energy show-band provides audience members with a reason to, time and time again, get up and head back out to the dance floor.
The All-Star horn section, led by former KC & The Sunshine Band lead trumpet, Conte Bennett, delivers a dynamic, full-section sizzle; a horn section that packs a dynamite punch!
Up front is lead male vocalist, Jeff Beatty, an accredited all-star specializing in Motown Hit's. Joining Jeff up front are three outstanding female vocalists; Jennifer Hansen, Kelly Manning, and Holly Resnick, whose combination of lead and harmonies provide depth to solid gold arrangements like ABBA's Dancing Queen, Cheryl Lynn's Got To Be Real, Christina Aguilera's Candyman, or The Emotions Best Of My Love, just to name a few.
In total, a four-piece horn section, three female, and two male vocalists cover classic and current hits side by side with a mix that appeals to an entire audience. In addition to performing 60's, Motown, 70's, 80's, and 90's solid gold rock, pop, and funk, Big Night Out also performs a number of contemporary hits. From classic songs like Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama, Aretha Franklin's Respect, to current tunes by Grammy Award winning artists like Christina Aguilera, Pink, Joss Stone, Rihanna, and Lady GaGa's Bad Romance, Poker Face, and Just Dance.
Local juggler Mag Hughes provides interactive entertainment for all of the kids at the Street dance and then performs for the crowd.
