WEST LINN – Flip book artwork from third-graders at Stafford Primary School is on display at the West Linn Public Library. The work will be available for viewing through June 1.
Stacey Couturier’s third grade class recently participated in an interactive simulation called Zooland. Students learned to become zookeepers so they could save a zoo that was in danger of being closed. They created natural habitats for the various regions where animals are found in the world. They painted backgrounds and animals, and then each student chose an animal for which they would make a flip book describing that animal. The final part of the unit included students writing research reports and creating PowerPoint presentations on the animal that they chose.
The collection of Zooland flip books is on display on the lower level of the library. The books depict and describe zebras, tigers, polar bears, elephants, and more.
