Nelson, who passed away in January, was an active member of the community and one of the founders of The Friends of the McLean House. Funds given in her memory were used to construct the new waterfall. As a Friend and one of the Founders, she helped create a historical location for the City of West Linn by restoring, preserving, and enhancing the interior of the house. “She did everything from wallpapering to weeding, planting, and ensuring the history of Dr McLean and his family had a place in time,” said Leanna Lindquist, treasurer for the Friends.
“Our board wishes to dedicate the water feature to the life, spirit and energy of Judy Nelson as a symbol of the ever-flowing passion she had for living and the support she gave to the McLean House and Park,” said Mike Watters, President of Friends of The McLean House and Park. “A memorial fund has been established in her name.” Tax-deductible donations to the water feature may be made to Friends of McLean Park and House, 5350 River Street, West Linn, OR 97068.
The McLean House is owned by the City of West Linn and cared for by The Friends of the McLean House.
