WEST LINN - The City of West Linn’s Planning Commission is urging interested residents to apply for an appointment to the newly created Residential Infill/PUD Task Force. This Task Force is a subcommittee of the Planning Commission and will work with City Staff in drafting recommended code amendments for the Commission.
As the City of West Linn approaches its ultimate residential build-out, it is expected to receive a greater number of requests for residential housing developments on smaller, often constrained, properties that are surrounded by existing housing. Development of these “infill” sites requires alternative regulatory approaches to create more desirable infill housing that is compatible with the community’s overall vision. The City Council has instructed Staff and the Planning Commission to revise the City’s code to address this issue.
City residents with experience, knowledge, or an interest in improving the City’s infill residential housing regulations are encouraged to apply. The Task Force is expected to meet approximately 12 times with Staff and the Commission over the next 10 months and will make its recommended amendments to the code to the Planning Commission this fall.
A full description of the Task Force’s purpose and the required qualifications of its members can be found by clicking <b><a href = "http://westlinnoregon.gov/files/Resoultion_No._2010-19.pdf">here.</a></b>
