Commission on Citizen Involvement

Summary

At the June 2, 2008 joint City Council and Planning Commission work session, staff was directed to prepare an Ordinance to formally create a Commission for Citizen Involvement ("CCI"), whose purpose will be to enhance the City's citizen involvement efforts as they relate to the land use planning process. In accordance with that request, Staff has prepared the attached Ordinance that amends the City's Municipal Code and establishes the CCI. The CCI shall, on a continuing and as needed basis, review and evaluate the City's existing processes to ensure that citizens are informed and given appropriate opportunities to participate in the planning process. The City's Planning Commissioners will make up the membership of the CCI.
