WEST LINN - Take Care of West Linn Day is ready for its fourth year in a row on May 19, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. This annual volunteer day has been a great success in West Linn. Groups have signed up already but we have plenty of opportunities left. After a productive three hours of volunteering, the Parks & Recreation Department welcomes all participating volunteers to a barbecue at Mary S Young Park from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. This is just one way that the Parks & Recreation Department shows their appreciation to volunteers. The barbecue is made possible by the support of local sponsors Clackamas Federal Credit Union and Pacific West Bank.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board’s mission for Take Care of West Linn Day is to promote the value of volunteerism and community pride by making opportunities available for community groups and individual members to participate in projects to give back to their community and maintain the high quality of life in West Linn. The goal is to facilitate a large number of projects throughout the City, led by community organizations or individuals.
Local organizations can choose to organize their own project or partner with another existing project. The Parks and Recreation Department will help with identifying a project and planning your project. In 2011 Take Care of West Linn Day had 20 different projects, located at 18 different sites, accomplished by 20 local groups. Individuals also have the opportunity to join one of the organized projects through partner SOLV or by contacting the Parks & Recreation offices. Projects are available for all ages and abilities.
Please contact the City of West Linn if your organization is interested in participating in Take Care of West Linn Day.
