WEST LINN - Two family friendly activities, the Ugly Holiday Sweater Dash and the Holiday Parade, will result in a brief Willamette Falls Drive closure on Saturday, December 11, 2010. The Ugly Holiday Sweater Dash is a one mile family fun run to benefit the West Linn Food Pantry. This event begins at 9:00 a.m. Drivers should be aware that as runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs travel down Willamette Falls Drive, there will be resulting traffic delays and street closures from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The most significant closure will be the eastbound lane of Willamette Falls Drive from Fields Bridge Park into Historic Willamette to 10th Street. The racers will be followed by a West Linn Police Officer who will open the eastbound lane as the runners progress down the route. Drivers traveling westbound will experience minor delays during the race.
After the race, runners are encouraged to join the crowd that will be gathering to watch the Annual Holiday Parade. During the Parade, both lanes of traffic will be closed in downtown Willamette from 10th Street to 14th Street from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
