Gresham artist’s photography is featured at the West Linn Library in September
The West Linn Public Library will feature the photography of Shawn Ross during the month of September. The exhibit will run September 3-27 in the library’s Community Room which is open to the public when not in use, and always open on Sundays from noon - 5 p.m.
Ross enjoys capturing the essence of a place in his photographs. His goal is to search for the soul of a particular location and capture the particular mood. He tries to look at landscapes as though they are people with personalities and then to share those qualities with the world through his photographs. He hopes to show the hidden meaning in common objects and places that people view every day. It is exciting for him to watch people looking at his photographs. “I like knowing that through my images I have caused at least a moment of creative spark in their mind’s eye,” Ross says.
Ross earned an art degree with an emphasis on photography from Marylhurst University in 2007.
