WEST LINN - The West Linn Public Library will feature an art exhibit by Pat Bognar during the month of August. The exhibit will run August 1-28 in the Library Community Room which is open to the public when not in use, and always open on Sunday from noon – 5:00 p.m.

Twenty-five years ago, Bognar went to Paris for a three-week vacation and ended up staying 10 years. In addition to taking many photographs, she was also a photography instructor during her time there. From Paris, she moved to Portland where she has continued her dual passions of being a photographer and teaching photography, currently at the University of Portland and the Oregon College of Art and Craft.

Bognar shoots with a Zero Image handmade wooden pinhole camera. Without a viewfinder or light meter, everything is a big guess, which adds to the mystery of the magical photography process. The extreme wide-angle effect of the pinhole camera allows her to squeeze lots of subject matter into each photo. Her images reflect the thriving life of Portland.
