WEST LINN - The West Linn Public Library will host an exhibit featuring the work of Brad McLemore and Margaret Klement during the month of May. Ceramics and photography will be the feature of the month-long exhibit that will run May 1-30 in the library’s Community Room which is open to the public when not in use, and always open on Sundays, noon – 5:00 p.m. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2:00-4:00pm.
McLemore earned an MFA in Ceramics from James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He moved to Oregon last year and in addition to working part-time in the Exhibits shop at OMSI, he works out of his garage-studio in Fairview. The pieces in this exhibit represent his ongoing interest in the broader connotations of the vessel that exist between function and symbol.
Margaret Klement graduated from the University of Oregon last year with a BA in Art, focusing on photography. Although she works with both digital and film, she has recently been exploring the properties of older Polaroid films. The theme of the photos in this exhibit is Lost, which relates to living in the strange limbo between college life and real life. She draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings, so all the images were taken in and around her own home.
